Mutaurwa.com

Contribution: Creative, UI/UX

Way back in 2013, created what is now my signature piece with Tim Holman. The concept is utilitarian and also expressive. On the one hand, the site is a simple way for people to hear my name, play it, and play the individual parts. The usefulness of the tool makes itself apparent every time I introduce myself to someone who is particularly stubborn about “wanting to get it right.” It also acts as an art piece in its own right as the user hovers over the slices of my name cause a cacophony of the sounds that compose “Mutaurwa” in a way that mimics how I feel during those conversations.

At press time, the site’s child project, “Name Tags,” is still in some form of pre-production at Google.
